Going Berserk Last Friday

Last Friday, Rebekah e-mailed me and this is what it said:
Let's do something crazy tonight...like go get yogurt in Bburg
Now, that's a little crazier than I'm usually okay with, but just this once, I figured if we could do it and live to tell the tale, that'd be one heck of a tale to tell!

Well, we did survive and here's that one heck of a tale...

We went on a date to a relatively-new place in Blacksburg, the Frosty Parrot.

Here, we did such crazy things as self-serve our own ice cream! (Note: actually, with Rebekah being pregnant, her making a decision is a pretty big deal these days!)

We then topped them off with whatever good stuff we wanted to top them off with...

I'm pretty sure Rebekah put something like chocolate-stuffed chocolate on her chocolate frozen yogurt. I don't know...there might have been a little bit more chocolate in there somewhere.

After that, we could top it off with even more (now, cold) goodies:

Here are our end results. I chose the Raspberry Tart yogurt and topped it off with some granola, waffle cone chunks, and fresh strawberries. Rebekah chose Breezy Reese's and coffee yogurt topped with chocolate something or other (actually, waffle cone chunks, oreos, and cookie-dough bites - I guess it wasn't as much chocolate as I thought...must be the pregnancy making her make uncharacteristic decisions).

We really enjoyed going crazy...but, man, it's gonna have to be a loooong time before we do anything like that again. Whew.

Blowing Rock 2012

A few weekends ago, we took a trip to Blowing Rock to spend time with some old Clemson friends (and one Gamecock) - Rachel, DJ, Elizabeth, & Rob. Can you guess from the type who the Gamecock is?

First trip with the new camera...so, prepare for lots of pictures!

So, the cabin. While I didn't take any pictures of the cabin itself, I do have a picture for you of the cabin owner's most proud hunting trophy - a taxidermied moose head!

First, the ladies...

Here are Rebekah, Rachel, and Elizabeth with Rachel's birthday cake! Happy birthday, Rachel!

Rachel, the birthday girl turned model:

Now, the guys. Quite possibly my favorite photo of the weekend:

The man, the plan, the canal, DJ:

Next, Rob:

Can you see the difference between those who attended Clemson & those who attended South Carolina?

Rob & Lizzie go together:

And then there's yours truly, the masterminds behind this blog:

So, what did we do this weekend? We went hiking around Bass Lake:

I played a lot with Rachel's 50mm prime lens:

Now, you see the sign.

Now, you see the church.

We played Killer Bunnies:

...and Seth was the winning carrot!

Rachel stacked the Killer Bunnies dice:

The ladies tried feeling the baby kick:

We played more games. Settler's this time:

Deep in thought.

Whoa, lots of hands! Probably "helping" each other decide where the robber should go.

We took a picture for "Little Fig," the name DJ dubbed as our baby's nickname when he/she was the size of a fig:

We ate at Mellow Mushroom:

Curious what the pizza looked like? Here it is! Although, I must admit I overdid it a little with the ridiculously short depth of field:

We topped it all off with some Kilwin's Ice Cream:

Before we left, we took some pictures of the couples:

I wanted to take a "pensive" baby picture, but Rebekah would have none of it:

Then, we took some group shots...but they weren't expecting the camera to take multiple shots!

All in all, we had a great time with great friends!
